I’m Manuel Nordhoff
My passion lies at the interface between design, technology and user experience. I think digitally holistically: from aesthetics and UX to technical feasibility and strategic implementation. I can read, write and evaluate code, understand technical architectures and communicate their strengths and weaknesses. As CTO and co-founder of a start-up, I have learnt to think about innovative projects in an interdisciplinary way – and have found the key to this lies in the integration and inclusion of all employees.
Three steps to success
1. Identify problems - what really slows down teams and projects
When projects become slow, decisions drag on or the team can no longer get into the flow, there is usually more to it than just a lack of resources or full calendars. It is often unspoken tensions, creative blockages or hierarchies that leak energy instead of generating it.
This is exactly where I come in. Together, we take a ruthlessly honest look at the status quo – with the aim of recognising causes rather than symptoms. We use methods such as retrospectives, anonymous surveys, KPI analyses and conflict discussions to bring to light things that would otherwise go unnoticed.
You gain clarity about what is really holding your team back – and a sound basis for moving forward in a targeted and effective manner. Without empty phrases. Without panic. But with substancial results.
2. Enabling solutions - out of the blockade, into change
Behind every problem there are forces that keep it going – blockers that slow down change, exacerbate conflicts or make solutions seem impossible. But blockers are always countered by their opponents: People, ideas and impulses that create movement and open up spaces for development.
This step is about analysing the identified core problems together with all those affected and involved: Which blockers are holding the status quo in place? And which helpers could break it up?
This process is iterative – we keep at it until viable, sustainable solutions become apparent. I facilitate targeted ideas and solutions workshops that are individually tailored to your situation.
As a certified Intuiti and Business Aware Design Coach, I work with a broad, often unconventional set of methods – from systemic thinking to business-orientated creative work. This results in solutions that not only look good, but also work – humanly, economically and effectively.
3. Surmount - from the whiteboard to everyday life
At this point, many coaches and consultants drop out. They leave behind colourful PowerPoint slides, arrows pointing in all directions and buzzwords that sound good but have little effect. At best, there is still a roadmap in the task tool – but this collides with reality from sprint 2 at the latest. Sound familiar?
A a lot is possible – but only if ideas are put into practice. I support this phase with my experience from over twelve years in development, design, project management, research, campaign work and as a start-up CTO.
Because in the end, it’s the results that count:
Are the features live? Are there A/B test results? Is the team velocity increasing? Do budgets and expenditure match? Have we perhaps even reached a state of flow – with motivated teams, well thought-out code and a desire for more?
Such results are achieved when solutions are not only well thought out, but also well made. I will actively support your implementation – with concrete next steps, routines, checklists, flight checks and everything else needed to anchor change in everyday work routines.
